As an RN Psychotherapist I support those who have experienced perinatal trauma. Perinatal trauma, more commonly known as birth trauma, is an event or multiple events that happen during the time period of beginning to start a family up to post-partum. This includes pre-conception, conception, maintaining pregnancy, birth and post birth. 1 in 3 individuals report their birth experience as traumatic, you are not alone. I believe that everyone has the ability to heal from their perinatal trauma. I am also a mom of two and a two time perinatal trauma survivor myself, and I am very passionate about helping individuals feel validated and seen in their own experiences. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for trauma, Healing Perinatal Trauma, the Trauma Informed Professional a. My client centered approach will be unique to each individual to help each person feel less isolated and consumed by their trauma. Together we can unpack feelings and give space for your trauma and grief in order to heal. We don't get to choose our trauma, but we can choose to heal from it, you deserve support.
